How to cut account registration fields down to just name, email and password?

All the other information is not needed for digital products. I have tried a couple of methods which are obviously for older versions and at the very least they break checkout and still leave the fields there even though they are no longer required to register. I would like them gone completely and not break the checkout process with paypal. Thanks.

You can not achieve this without an extension or coding skills.
