Hi all,
I have the cart showing in my header (to the right of the search) with the 'Items Count' & 'Sub-Total' that updates without changing pages
This Mod is for OC1.4.9.1
It is available to download from here & is totally FREE.....

There is also documentation telling you how to install etc & an image showing it.
If you have any problems with installing or errors, please post them here & not in the 'Comments' of the Extensions--->Modules

In response to 'Keeons' comment, what version of OC have you installed it with & have you modified it in any way prior to installing this 'Cart In Header' as it works just fine on the Demo site as stated above

Hi,

I like the look of your mod and downloaded it expecting a zip file. Instead I got a file that my PC wouldn't recognise at all. Am I doing something wrong?

I zipped the files up using Winzip but I also use Winrar as my main Zip program & the later should open the package for you

First off, thank you for this little "hack" (if that's what you call this).

Unfortunately, I tried to download the Extension from http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... ion_id=716 and all I got was a filed called Cart but no file type was associated with it. I'm on a Mac and can't open or view this file.

Any ideas?

Secondly, I have set my cart to be in US Dollars, yet, my header is still showing the Pound symbol. Any thoughts?

I zipped the files / folders up using Winrar which will unpack it for you.
As for your cart still showing UK pound, I found this in a post....

first goto the admin local and set the default currency to waht you want it to. then go and change the currency from the front end.

if you want to test if USD is the default currency just clear your cookies then gop back to your stores home page.

as for the currency value you problem! once you have set your default currency goto the admin currency page and change your default currency value to 1.00000. then update all the other currency rates.

Qphoria was able to help me out with the currency issue. All that I needed to do was delete my cookies and the $ sign showed up. [http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 13#p112313]

The file worked — was able to unpack. I probably could before, now that I realize what I didn't do. Thanks!

Thank you very much for the MOD. However the module replaces the mainly important files. If you have installed some modules before or applied any changes, the module will overwrite your changes.

Hence I would like to ask you kindly, if you could write a step by step guide: what shall be added and in which part of the code.

Anyway, thank you for the great module and keep up the great job!

I managed to add the code to my files line by line using a code comparison tool

I got everything working, however the subtotal and number of goods in the cart do not update w/o page refresh! Please give me a hint.

also I have read comments in the forum but didn't get the point, what to do =) how it's possible to improve.

I have stated in the 'read me' text file provided with this . . . . .

MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP OR MAKE A COPY OF ALL THE FOLLOWING FILES LISTED BELOW BEFORE UPLOADING (Especially if you have made any modifications)!!!

& also further down that text file

IF YOU HAVE MODIFIED the Default template / layout etc etc already, it would be wise to backup these files before uploading!!!

& yet even further down in the same text file

I have also HIGHLIGHTED the code I have added or changed in each file for you to experiment with ;-)

which does show you what & where I have changed or added the code etc but, if you do think that a more detailed guide would be helpful then no problem, just let me know then I can do this for you & add it to the download file.

Glad you managed to get it installed & this may be something to do with the cart settings. Do you have the cart 'disabled' but the ajax 'enabled' in the Admin part of your site? Admin==>Modules==>Cart?
The 'Cart' ==> 'Status' should be 'Disabled' but the 'AJAX Add to cart' should be 'Enabled'

Hi Harry thanks for reply.. yes i have enabled ajax and cart disabled but it just forwards to cart directly.

sorry it is all my fault i fix the issue.

it was because i forget to add ajax code to my own template.

it is great working %100 now.

Installed nicely, but I have a small problem with the quantity showing up double. When I add a product it shows that I have added 2 products. Add 2 products, and it shows I have added 4 and so on...

Why?

You may need to disable the regular cart (in admin)??

Tried that, but it didn't help... Works now though. Fixed itself over night strange...

Also having a problem with 2X the item quantity added.

I checked the settings in Admin -> Extensions -> Modules -> Cart

AJAX: Enabled
Cart: Disabled

But... 1.) The right-sidebar cart *still* shows up (even though it's disabled)... and 2.) Made no difference whatsoever - still adds 2X products to the cart.

Any ideas?
