Modify Latest Homepage Module to list

Hello All,
I'm sorry to be ignorant here if it's been done before but I'm hoping for some assistance modifying the latest products module for the home page.
I have a three main categories: "Men's", "Woman's", and "Clearance". I'm hoping to, instead of just listing them all together, list the latest in a list under "Men's" in one column, "Women's" in another, and "Clearance" in a third.
I'm talking about OpenCart version 1.4.9.1 with the CSRF patch applied.
