Upgrading 1.5.6.4 tp 2.0

Seems simple right, well not for me. I have uploaded the required files for 2.0. but when I enter the site name and /install, I get a blank page. Blank! Been fighting with this for hours and getting violent.
WTH? Please help.

I hope you are trying this on a copy versus a live site but with that being said... look through your server logs; all of them. Something should be written in a log when that happens. More than likely the log will have a 500 error reason but that is just a guess.
