Dashboard Overview Stats = 0

Hello there

I'm using version 1.4.8. After performing a test sale transaction, everything processed correctly through payment processor. Notification emails were sent both to customer and merchant. However the Dashboard overview summary of sales showed the following:

Overview
Total Sales: $0.00
Total Sales This Year: $0.00
Total Orders: 0
No. Of Customers: 1
Customers Waiting Approval: 0
No. Products: 31
No. Of Reviews: 0
Reviews Waiting Aprroval: 0

I would be very thankful for any suggestions you can make to fix this.

Didin't I read this same question elsewhere

Go to admin > sale > orders
Does the order show up there ?
Do a filter on "missing orders" using the status filter
Is the order in the "missing orders" status. If so, then it is most likely that your payment module callback did not call back properly.

How may I prevent this on future sale transactions? Did I set things up incorrectly? Or what?

Thanks for the reply.. but I may have left out some details...

The customer record is in the system. The Stats show that 1 sale was made. Paypal received the payment and both the customer and merchant were notified. However the Stats indicate Sales = 0.

Also the sale does appear under Order Status = Missing Orders.

Any ideas?

PS: The sale was made using a credit card with Paypal as the processor.(Not Payment-pro, just basic Paypal)
Should Transaction Method be set to "Sale" or "Authorization"? Also what should the Order Status be in that same Paypal window?
