Hi,
I would like to create an eCommerce based on Dropshipping of a specific food Product and I would like to know if opencart offers some specific features.
The eCommerce that I would like to make foresees that the Producer can sell his Products directly on the eCommerce site and the Customer can buy these Products from each Producer. The shipment will be tracked and managed by the eCommerce, but the Producer will take care of it directly.
The things I would like to ask are the following:
1. Through opencart is it possible to allow the registration of two types of Users (Customer and Producer) where the Customer will be the standard User who will be able to choose and buy Products, while the Producer will be able to insert new Products on his own page (Name of the Product, Photos, Description, etc.)?
2. Since the Producers are geo-located in different places, the purchase by a Customer of more Products from more Producers will lead to the creation of different shipments. Is it possible to link the Customer cart to the Producer page, so by entering the Producer's page one Customer can add several Products from that Producer to the cart, but by entering the page of another Producer a new empty cart is created (while keeping in memory all the other carts of all the Producers visited for which at least one Product has been added)? During the conclusion of the order it should be possible to propose to the Customer all the cart created and the possibility to conclude the order for each of them.
I look forward to your kind reply.
Regards,
Andrea

I had this idea recently and spoke to Daniel about it. The downside to this, especially at this time due to the COVID-19 situation, is that shipping providers can simply remove some of the verification methods regarding mail packaging as store owners and customers may not be able to obtain the information they require electronically unless calling directly at the post office. The shipment will be tracked and managed by the eCommerce, but the Producer will take care of it directly.

Hi straightlight,
thanks for your answer.
By the way, leaving aside current global situation with COVID-19 emergency, is it possible to create different carts with different shipments based on Producer's Products with Opencart Platform?

The current situation is I did proposed this suggestion to Daniel but, unfortunately, near the end of my development, it has been announced by shipping providers that shipping statuses even for high priority mail, especially in Canada, will either be delayed of 75 days where the goods might even be destroyed during those periods politically by law. Which means, for Opencart store owners, even though there would be a way to automated verifications via the APIs for shipping statuses, JSON error messages could still re-appear from the Opencart APIs, or from the OC admin sales orders, since shipping providers have the means to deprecate or deactivate all validation methods during the worst times.

Is it possible that we can create separate shopping carts for each Catalog that we create and maintain it. For instance, I might go into the IT Hardware catalog, add a few Monitors and BlackBerry Chargers to my cart, but not submit straight away TargetPayandBenefits

Hardware procurement are especially among the limitations explained from my posts above. Even though you'd set these items on a delay period, the cart by default will only hold these items for an hour. In this case, even though registered customers would place their items, it still won't resolved the unexpected delays for the delivery providers to deliver the goods with guarantee of deliveries at this time.Charlottes wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 1:39 pmIs it possible that we can create separate shopping carts for each Catalog that we create and maintain it.
