Hello,
I need someone I can meet in Orange County California. Our website is simple and old. The hosting company took it down because our OpenCart is outdated and not compatible with PHP 7.2.
This is what our web host told me:
Checking your site, I'm afraid that it is not compatible with PHP
7.2, and the earlier test may not have fully found the inconsistency.
I'm very sorry for the trouble!
It looks like your site uses OpenCart, which was installed manually to the site within the past 10 years. OpenCart 1.4.8 (the version you have
installed) was released prior to 2013, and is not compatible with current versions of PHP due to its age. It does look like the developers of OpenCart provide a paid upgrade option from their older versions to their current release:

Older PHP versions must be removed over time from our managed systems for both security and stability purposes. PHP 5.6 has been outside of its support window at PHP.net for over a year, meaning that as of December 2018, PHP.net has stopped fixing bugs - and more importantly, patching security vulnerabilities - in PHP 5.6. To protect not only our hardware, but our customer's data, we do have to regularly remove older versions of PHP over time in our managed systems like shared hosting.
PHP.net releases about one version of PHP a year, and provides bug and security support for three years after the initial release. PHP 5.6 was first released in late 2015. You can see historical End of Life support timeframes for each version of PHP at:
https://www.php.net/eol.php
Please contact me if you are local.
Thank you

Temporary, before someone will upgrade, you can fix the store.
From both config's file change this line:
to this
And from Opencart 1.5.6.4 you can upload db.php and mysqli.php on you server.
- db.php in system/library
- mysqli in system/database
From both config's file change this line:
Code: Select all
define('DB_DRIVER', 'mysql');
Code: Select all
define('DB_DRIVER', 'mysqli');
- db.php in system/library
- mysqli in system/database

Thank you xxxVirusxxx for the code. However, I am not a programmer or a web developer. I wouldn't know what to do with this information you provided.
I need a local expert to get the site back up. Someone I can trust and not hold up the site for ransom.
We actually don't have any products for sale, we just have the OpenCart in our website code that was done 10 years ago. The Web hosting had updated to PHP 7.2 and OpenCart we have isn't compatible.
Thank you and still seeking to hire help in Orange County, California.

First check my PM.
Second
You don't have products for sale on you store? Is just catalog/presentation mode?
You don't need to be a programmer...you just need to use a FTP client or Cpanel from you hosting to do what I said...

Thank you xxvirusxx, I got the code to work. Lucky I know how to use FTP. The website is up as a corporate 10 year old website that one day will need attention.xxvirusxx wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 8:52 pmTemporary, before someone will upgrade, you can fix the store.

The only thing, the website gets shrinks (not a full page) on some pages. We can figure this out later; it looks ugly but oh well. Better than a blank page.
I will send you a PM.
