Hello all,
I use the royal mail shipping extension for basically all of my postage
I was wondering if there is any way to add options like Royal Mail Tracked 24, Royal Mail Tracked 48 to this?
Or infact if there is some updated Royal Mail shipping extension that already includes them?
I simply use the one that comes with OpenCart (3.0+)
Any help appreciated
Thanks,
Luke

If these options are returned by API, then it is possible to display them. But on their site it says "Tracked 24 and 48 can only be bought online", so it can be limited to RM site only.

I have another question ref the same extension please
The Royal Mail shipping extension is working for UK, working for Europe and working for places like USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, JAPAN and so on
But no international tracked & signed, international signed, or international tracked option shows for some countries for example Taiwan, Vietnam, UAE. It only shows international standard (1.1kg item in cart of 80gbp value). Does anyone have any idea why this might be?

The Royal Mail shipping module does not use an API. All the services are hard coded into the module. To add more services would require the mosule to be modified. It may be possible you could use one of the other shipping modules, such as the weight based one to add these services to your store.

Your missing countries are definitely coded into the module for some services. You would need the check the following files to check they appear in the correct arrays.

Really? I was pretty sure it does. In this case it sounds pretty stupid to me. When API exists, it is always wise to use it to get current rates and other stuff.

I'd love to see a Royal Mail shipping extension with an API and live rates. Mind you. I said that 5 years ago and I think it's still a way off yet.

You mean like the service availability rates already delivered from their developers page: https://developer.royalmail.net/node/1860791 ?

The most generated errors being found on Opencart forum originates from contributed programming. The increased post counters are caused by redundancies of the same solutions that were already provided prior.

If there's no such extension, I could create the one for you. I'm quite experienced in this. I mean, I created an extension for PayPal for Marketplaces, the most evil API ever existed, which makes me a God of APIs! Drop me an email or send a message in Skype, if you really need it and wish to invest.

Ah. I missed that. Whoever gets that in to a finished and working extension will see their bank balance go up. :)

Not really. Development of such extension may take quite some time since 3rd party API is involved, but it may never pay off. So like I said, if you wish to invest - be my guest.
