How to get attributes in shopping cart?

I want to display in the shopping cart one of the attributes for each product. How can I get product attributes to the shopping cart?
No OC version, no theme posted, no relevant extensions, so no one can actually help you.
If you ask REALLY nicely with the required information above, then someone may offer their free time and knowledge to assist, but it is asking for more than support.
