opencart/vqmod error

Hi all,
Please help or advise. Ive recently set up a new install and my site runs slow with errors, these are as follows:

It's trying to compile over 134Mb of ram to load each page which is why it's running so slowly (over 6.5second response when you get one).
I've increased the memory allocation but its still pretty lame.
Please help if possible.
