Setting Page save - Not Acceptable! .... This error was generated by Mod_Security.

Hi,
Sometimes back i installed SSL on my website with OC 2031. i have hosting at hostgator.
Today when i went to setting tab to change something and clicked on save button, page populate with error message -

"Not Acceptable!
An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security."

I am not able to make any changes in setting tab.
Please help.

This is caused by a very strict modsecurity ruleset which thinks you are trying to do sql injections, you might be able to temp disable modsecurity then do the changes and enable it again after.

Modsecurity is a very good thing to have active at your server because it can block hack attempts.

You might also be able to switch to a less restrictive ruleset

Or contact your hosting provider on the matter, if you're not skilled enough yourself.

But Mod security option is not there on cpanel under security tab and not in any other tab on hostgator page. I have shared hosting.
Any idea? i googled for hostgator but could not find anything.
