I installed the Authorize.net_AIM credit card processing module and have a question in the properties....what is the MD5 field for??

Have you worked this out yet? I am currently trying to do the same...
Are you using the Authorize.net module that comes with the installation or another third party?

The core one that includes md5 no longer requires that field as of 1.4.9
The md5 is an optional hash check that you can create from your authorize.net account on their site.
