Hello Everyone,

We're encountering the following bug on the checkout page:
  • Add an item to cart
  • Click on Checkout
  • Step 1: Checkout Options
  • Login as a Returning Customer
On the checkout page this login appears to fail, you can't continue to Step 2 in the checkout, but if you click on Register in the upper right of the header it loads the "My Account" page with all of the account information.

If you clear cache and start the process over but instead you login before adding to cart every is functioning correctly.

We're running OC 3.0.3.1 and Journal 3.0.36

Can anyone offer some insight to the cause of this error?
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Paul

Regards,

Paul

browser caching issue.
Thanks for the reply. I'm able to recreate this in Chrome and Firefox, so is this a "browser caching issue" customers are likely to run into as well?

How is it a browser issue? If an existing customer can't login and make a purchase using a browser wouldn't it be an Open Cart issue?
Is there another way to access Open Cart that I'm not aware of?

The issue is with the extensions you're using, not with the browser. If you switch to the default theme and test with a fresh installation, you won't encounter much issues other than those who have originally been discovered and reported either on the forum or on Github.

Thanks for the reply straightlight.

This issue seems to be related to Open Cart and not an extension. I resolved it by applying letxobnav's recommended change to the Open Cart system/framework.php file found here:

This change is server-specific and a distributed extension on the forum. Not an OC bug.

Exactly the same problem - all works if you login outside of checkout but a returning customer cannot login - also alters price in cart when they try

Pulling my hair out trying to fix this any help appreciated.

Thanks

Have your tried added cache control headers, which is what solved the issue for the original poster.
