All,
I have a site which is running Opencart 3.0.2.0 and the hosting company did a server migration to a new server. After this when you visit the site you are given a blank page. Even view source shows nothing. I am looking for suggestions on what may have changed from the server side so I can have the hosting company check to see what is missing or different on the new server configuration.
Because the site is down I renamed the index.php file as index5.php so I can put a maintenance page for visitors as I don't want them to see a blank page. Is this okay for me to do so I can test or would this create any errors where I would not be able to test the opencart?
I am not sure where else to look for errors on the installed site. I looked in the storage/logs and the error file is from weeks prior to the move. Will Opencart log errors somewhere else that I am not checking?
any suggestions appreciated.
thanks

While it is best to put the Opencart's maintenance mode to On from your admin - > systems - > settings - > edit settings - > server tab - > Maintenance: On, there are no limits for a user to test and troubleshoot the errors. Which is why, mainly, the forum has been established in the first place; to track down the error messages that may or may not originate from the core but especially from the users. Is this okay for me to do so I can test or would this create any errors where I would not be able to test the opencart?

yes, understood about the admin settings for changing to maint mode, however I cannot get to the admin section as it results in a blank page. My main reason for putting up a temp index page was so that visitors did not get a blank page.
Any insight or suggestions on finding some type of error log which I may be overlooking or things that maybe changed on the hosting company side which I could ask if they have enabled?

If you use cPanel, go to your FTP on the root folder, you'll see a folder called: access_logs or logs . Download the most recent date file of these logs and take a look at today's events. This will provide you what you need.yes, understood about the admin settings for changing to maint mode, however I cannot get to the admin section as it results in a blank page. You can also look on your host console under the logs or errors icon but most of the time, that frame is either disabled or exceeded its maximum file size to display the results. FTP is 99% more effective to see these logs.

Straightlight,
I have looked at this and also reported that the error_log is not getting updated. it still has the last modify date and errors listed from prior to the server update.
do you happen to know how I could run the just the "Pre-Installation" part of the code? The reason i ask this is that i have attempted to install a fresh install on another account and when I run the install i end up with a blank page as well. I was hpoing to find a way to run just the pre install piece of the installation and help narrow down the area for the hosting company to look. I know this is a hosting error but I am trying to help them figure out what maybe missing or miss configured.
as always, thanks for all the help
