Hello,
I am having a problem w/ “Warning: Shipping method required!” during the cart checkout.
Setup/configuration,
1. Running Opencart 3.0.3.1_rc
2. Only UPS extension is enabled and with the rest of shipping methods are disabled
3. Product “A” is assigned to Tax Class w/ 9.25% tax rate and Geozone California.
4. During checkout page popup w/ error ““Warning: Shipping method required!”
5. Testing w/ different shipping locations both within or outside state of CA always result in such warning message and no shipping rates shown on checkout page
Not sure of the issues, please advice and help !

Geo Zones may not be configured.

The most generated errors being found on Opencart forum originates from contributed programming. The increased post counters are caused by redundancies of the same solutions that were already provided prior.

I called UPS Support people and they are asking me for the Opencart's error logs or journals for them to look at and see if the issue is on their side. Any idea
where are the error log files located and names ?
thanks

Default location: /system/storage/logs/error.log file . This must be activated from your OC admin - > systems - > settings - > add / edit settings - > server tab and ensure the error.log file is specified at the bottom of the form.

An alternate location, if using cPanel, would be under your root FTP folder in your logs folder (gz files or .log files) or on each public_html subfolders or main folder with the filename called: error_log .

Hi Straightline,
By look at the error.log, the data returned from "UPS DATA RECV:" look fine but not sure why Opencart generated Warning "Warning: Shipping method required!" and displaying no data. Any thoughts ?
Thanks

Logs looks fine. Might be a geo zone setting not matching the extension. PM sent.

Compared the UPS files with the OC v3.0.3.2 release or with the master branch on Github.

I just found a massive patch solution for UPS on Github Opencart: https://github.com/opencart/opencart/co ... f49cde12b3 . See if that resolves the issue you are reporting about.

Anyone who plans to install/upgrade to Opencart 3.0.3.1, please reconsider because at least UPS shipping method doesn't work or not support on this version. I just don't want you to waste your time. I have posted the issues a few week but no one prove to me otherwise. May be until 3.1 release ? until then..

That would be incorrect statement. A solution was posted on the above from this post: viewtopic.php?f=114&t=212223&p=757932#p757610 where patches have been distributed from Github to fix all the problems with UPS (at least the ones that were recently reported).

Straightlight,
Do you know anyone who applied these patches and claimed that fixes the issues ? I didn't hear from anyone including you.

That's because nobody simply reported it after integrating it. Normally, what's been seen over the years is that when nobody replies back after finding their solutions, it simply means that the next people are on their own afterwards. Which is why, continuous topics are getting created despite if the forum search or Google search even exists. Otherwise, new users wouldn't feel the need to create new topics on the forum without following the forum rules 95% of the time.

A code being unpublished does not mean it is irrelevant code. It simply means the published codes may not yet have been integrated yet.

Straightlight,
I may not agree with you on this one. As a user, I don't want to take unpublished/released source codes.
