Is anyone interested in working on a modification of the UPS XML extension by Q? I will pay for the customization.
Basically looking for an if /then criteria on items. Items should be marked as "Self" or "Boxed" items. If "self" items, then item gets its own shipping labels as normal. If marked as "Boxed", then the shipping should use Q's UPS XML extension.

That'd be great! They'd both be UPS rateable though. Let me give a more specific example.
Let's say that I want to sell a box of ammunition by the case. The case only weighs 20lbs and logically fits within our maximum value. If the customer orders 3 cases of ammunition, the UPS XML module wants to roll that up into one label with a discounted value. However, due do the nature of the package we cannot bundle these items together and they have to be shipped individually so each case gets its own label, rather than being summed up in one shipping quote. So for each ammunition case, I would mark them as a "self" item so they don't get calculated in the aggregate shipping quote. Let me know if that explanation helps.

Q, so is this something you can do? I was really hoping to launch our site before Christmas season begins and this is the last piece we're looking for.
It seems to me that it could be set with a boolean value and statement of some kind.
I did find a group that did a good job customizing some specific needs for the mod. They're Pragmatic Systems (http://pragmaticsystems.net/)
