Hello
I have looked all over the internet and no one is explaining file permissions properly. Apologies if this is a basic question.
1) What is the BEST way to update file permissions? Is it acceptable to do it via File Manager at CPanel? When I try it this way, some Sub-Folders are not updated properly
2) What are the CORRECT file permissions AFTER an installation?
A) All files and folders in root directory?
B) What files/directories need a different permission, and what permission?
C) VQMOD
D) The Storage directory which is outside the root folder (Outside Public_html)

I have looked all over the internet, and there are MANY different answers. No one is explaining it well. Not even OpenCart.
I am hoping someone here can help out.

Well, you could try this CHMOD Tool executable PHP File, it should function in OC-3 as well, I guess:

But you possibly have to re-code such Sections first, to link to the 'real' outside Cache Sections:

if (file_exists("system/storage/cache")) {
    echo "Clearing system/storage/cache<br/>";
    cleandir("system/storage/cache");
}

OR THEN, just remove such Sections out of the File !

Files should be 644
Folders should be 755
