As an Amazon seller, I received the following email today indicating an Amazon Checkout module was released by the Amazon team for ZenCart. The 2 most common checkouts are probably Amazon and Paypal... Paypal is covered already, but I haven't seen a payment module for Amazon. Article posted below:
Updated Checkout by Amazon Zen Cart Plug-in

The Checkout by Amazon team has just released an updated version of the Zen Cart plug-in. Zen Cart is an open source shopping cart software that supports Checkout by Amazon.

The updated plug-in includes the following features:

* Integration with Instant Order Payment Notifications: Orders placed through Checkout by Amazon can be synced from Amazon through Merchant Feeds and managed within Zen Cart- Amazon order status history
* Dynamic shipping and tax rates calculation using callbacks.
* Checkout with Amazon button on the Shopping Cart page with PayPhrase integration.
* Ability to add custom data required by merchants via custom data modules

The plug-in is tested to run with PHP4.4 and above. We hope Zen Cart users find these additions valuable as we continue to make improvements to our services.

yes I know there are at least three mod developers who have it on their todo list, just that none of us have gotten to it yet.

Though I would certainly not say that amazon is #2 behind paypal I would think there are many, many other gateways more popular, though I would think it is one of the more popular ones that does not have a gateway available for opencart yet.

Agreed that it may not be #2 behind paypal, Amazon is the largest online retailer. Therefore, more people have Amazon checkout accounts than anyone else. So from an ease of use standpoint, Paypal and Amazon would probably cover most everyone's needs who shops online.

Thank you for the feedback.

did you bother searching the extension section? I know there are at least two or three extensions for it.

@Xsecrets: Yes, I searched the extension section -- nobody has implemented "Checkout by Amazon." Amazon Simple Pay and Amazon Flexible Payment System have been implemented... but there are no modules for "Checkout By Amazon," which is the latest/current version.
