Hi guys. Sorry I have to make a new thread even though there are heaps of similar thread.
I think my situation is different...Im still a newbie so please bear with me

PROBLEM: Contact Page not working on both "SMTP" and "MAIL" settings
BACKGROUND:

1. -am using OC v1.4.8b

• -host server on linux

• -as per host provider the php mail function is enabled

• -my domain name email is hosted via Google Apps. This was made possible by changing the MX Records in my host. With Google Apps I can receive/send emails with myname@mydomainname.com even though I am technically in Google's Gmail. More info about this on http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/busi ... tails.html

PROBLEM DETAIL:

1) When I use the "MAIL" setting, the contact page will advise that message has been successfully sent but when I check in my admin email there is no message from contact page, even though my host said the php mail function is enabled.

2)On the otherhand, when I use the "SMTP" setting with the following data:
SMTP host: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP username: myname@mydomainname.com
SMTP password: my email password
SMTP port: 25
SMTP time out: 5
Alert mail: yes

And then I test the Contact Page, the page generates the following error:


Where do you think is the problem? OC? Host? or me? Please advise a solution. Thank you.

Hi dramony,

I have mine fixed. This problem is due to server set-up. Ask your host to fix it for you.
Help them trace the route of the message by giving them the "email header".
