who said you NEED to upgrade:))? there is a good saying "dont fix if it is not broken" :) or dont put your fingers into running engine. if your store is working and gaining revenue. it can be 1.5.x version that doesnt matter

This analogy is incorrect. Upgrade tactics aren't only about fixing what might or might not be broken. It also has the purpose on adding new required features that a store administrator may require.

OC3 can only be seen as a problem when people do not know how to deal with it. Lots of reported issues have been reported in the past for the latest release. Although, lots of bug fixes also have been published on the forum as well. While many may not suggest to use v3.x releases on production servers, it still may vary on your needs. In this case, Journal3, should you contact the extension developer for more information.

For "wait" you mean want, I presume...

Journal 3 (when released) will be compatible with all version of Opencart.

Version number of Opencart and version number of Journal are NOT related...

Opencart 3.+ is possibly (and it should) an improvement over Opencart 2.+, but based on your existing extensions, could be a problem

Lots of people are staying on OC 2.+ but there are also lots of people on OC 1.+. Again is all based on each person requirement.

It seem that you have been misinformed on several fronts

Over 95% of all computer problems can be traced back to the interface between the keyboard and the chair...

There seem to be a redundancy here ... I think what you meant to say is OC3 should be better than OC2 in many different ways.
