I'm not quite sure what happened, as this only occurs in a couple of files. I was going to try to clear the cache, but I have checked system/storage/cache and it is empty.

Editing header.twig and footer.twig (haven't tried other files) allows me to make changes to some parts of the file and have them save / take effect, but not others. For example, I try removing / adding links to the header navbar (2 lines below {{ menu_side }}), and the changes are not made.

Or in the footer file, I try to remove the a placeholder lorem ipsum with a language file value and remove the "Brands" link from the footer. The link is removed, but the new language variable is not loaded. In addition, when editing these twig files, every time I load them up, they go back to the what the twig file started as (ie, any changes that were made and saved become erased).

Side note, I also can make changes to these twig files in cPanel and have them save, but the changes aren't loaded. I've made custom pages through cPanel, so I'm not sure if this is related to it or not.

Unsure if this is related or not, but I tried to add links to the admin side menu in the controller, but they did not appear. Also, any changes I made to existing links did nothing as well.

When making changes to ASCII files on cPanel, it is not the best strategy to use. Normally, it should also be done by using any text editors and linked over your FTP downloads. This way, whenever you save a file, the file gets automatically re-uploaded. The cPanel File Manager should only be used to set recursive settings or to extract a ZIP file that may include a mass quantity of them which definitely speeds up the process compared to FTP. cPanel is also useful for downloading files via SSL rather than UDP with FTP.

cPanel includes regional settings with the file header format being used. When editing a file directly on the console, it may rebuild the file header of the original to another header file which can corrupt the file since the cPanel File Manager uses the ownership access of the domain in order to write to those files compared to FTP. FTP still has dependency of ownerships. However, the paths and the write access can be more limited on that end.

There are tips to reflect changes when edit twig files:
1. First try to clear the cache files
2. From admin dashboard, top right corner have setting button can refresh cache or disable to store cache.
3. Try to edit files from the theme editor itself
4. If not succeeds using above 3 points, rename template twig file and call same from controller to see the changes

Looks like most of the problem extends from using Softauculous to install (why I decided to do that, I don't know. I've had issues trying to do that for fun in the past). The cache wasn't installed properly (there were no files whatsoever). Also, I have come to learn that deleting the cache files is not the same as refreshing the cache on the modifications page. But needing to refresh the cache only seemed to be necessary with the as installed files, and not custom files I have added, which is strange.

The refresh button may be confusing to most people. This do need to be renamed to Reset instead to avoid confusing regarding the fact that no custom files are being considered when using the refresh button with OCMod.
