The region / state dropdown at registration for new customers is not showing anything other than its own name and the dropdown triangle. The section list in the source code is empty. It seems to have been working up until today, and nothing has been edited in the settings.
Where should I look in the cart setup to make the region / state dropdown active? It is marked as a required field and the last couple of new customers have phoned saying they can't get past that page to complete registering.

Region field is populated after you selected country, which means it uses JavaScript. If it's not populated, then you have a JS error on your site, which breaks all other scripts. I hate JS for that!

I think you're right about it being javascript - some of the other bits that are JS powered, such as parts of the menu and pop-up images, aren't working either. Not sure how to sort this one. I will play around a bit more. Thanks for the clue.

Well, whatever it was that stopped the JS working has gone away and suddenly all the bits that were not functioning as expected is working again.
