Password protected sites and Paypal IPN

Hi,

I'm a photographer, I sell photos I take at weddings etc.. vi athe internet, and protect parts of my website with passwords, so, for example, only Mr and Mrs Smith and their guests can see and buy photos from Mr and Mrs Smith's wedding.

I had been password protecting the part of my website where the OpenCart store resided, but that meant that when PayPal standard returned the IPN to the store, it was not getting past my password, resulting in a missed order (although the payment was taken by paypal). So, I have a few questions...

1) Can I get the IPN to go through the directory level password I have set by adding some kind of parameter somewhere?

2) If the above is not possible, can I password protect parts (categories) of the OpenCart part of my site?

3) I have a number of missed orders, that I can see by filtering on "missed orders" on the order page, but I would like to progress these so they are visible as pending, processing, complete etc.. It seems that merely chaning the order status within the order does not achieve this...any ideas how I might do this?

1. Look at the catalog/controller/common/maintenance. It uses an ignore list for pages to skip maintenance mode, namely any payment page.

3. Missing orders are just temp orders that get generated when the confirmation page is loaded. They may be orders that were not completed, or orders that changed and became new orders. Only need to worry about them if a known payment didn't go through, then you at least have the history. Otherwise you don't need to worry about them.

Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't really answer my question....perhaps I didn't explain well enough...

1) I have a website - lets call it www.weddingphotography.co.uk - this is my marketing website. Guests at weddings log onto this website, and click on a sales link that takes them to the OpenCart part off my site, located at www.weddingphotography.co.uk/store - the directory /store is password protected so that only guests can view the photos. With the password protection in place, the IPN from paypal doesn't get through when a sale is made. I can disable the password protection, but I want this part of the site secured by a password.

3) The missing orders were real orders for which I hadn't received the IPN because of the problem described above - however, I have resolved this myself now.

ideally, I would like to password protect each category I create in OpenCart - I doubt this is possible though.
