I'm looking at an abandoned cart extension and I am interested to know if any of the extensions have a process to stop users making a habit of abandoning carts just to get an extra discount?
Also has anyone done a functionality comparison between the numerous abandoned cart extensions that are available? Searched google but can't find one.
Thoughts
I would imagine the developer of your abandoned cart mod could add some code to keep a list of e-mail addresses, and then make sure it only gets sent out once. That wouldn't prevent customers from using multiple e-mail addresses, though I wouldn't imagine that most users would create new e-mail addresses just to get a discount. (If they did, you could always just cancel the order and explain why it doesn't qualify. If your terms are clearly laid out, the people that break the rules would probably expect it anyway.)
If your developer can't add that code, and you need to find someone to do it for you, you should post a request in the OpenCart "Commercial Support" forum, which is checked by a number of OpenCart developers. You can also try checking out the OpenCart "Partners" area.
