Hi there

Is it possible to make the image slider static? I only want to show one image, but it keeps sliding one image. Can I make it static so it doesn't move?

Create a new banner with a single item in Design > Banners, then go to Extensions > Extensions > Modules > Banner and create a banner with the desired dimensions, choosing the previous banner you created. Then go to Design > Layouts > Home and add your banner where you want it.

I have added a banner to the module but it keeps sliding even though there is only one banner. How do I make it stop sliding and just display a static image

If you followed my instructions it wont slide.

do you have to have the slider module installed and enabled? I'm not getting any banner to show up after following the instructions above.

Have you either added or changed the new banner in extensions/extensions choose modules from dropdown

I've went to extensions > modules > banner > add banner, enabled. Then went to design > layouts > default > content top > banners > homepage banner > save. Then went to Banners > (my store) > added banner image > save. Still nothing. Carousel and Slider are both disabled.

I would like the static banner to appear only on the home page, below the blue link bar. Right now it's just blank below the link bar.

If you want a static image you can use the custom html module.

Another module will allow you to add an image of any size (single works also) and best fit re-size to screen - it will also add image as a header, background and a few other useful little bits .. like individual pages / products / categories etc ..
as well as custom css per page/product/category ..

Have you added the banner to Design => Layouts => homepage (content top) ?

Wrong... should be design/layouts/home if you want it to display on the home page

Thanks mona but I'm looking for the free option to just have a simple banner on the homepage, nothing fancy.
