Paypal Standard for Dummies

Can anybody write a dummies guide to using Paypal Standard?

Have tried to get it to work using sandbox but so far no joy. Can get the orders done which show up on the sandbox account I set up for a customer, however, the orders are not showing on the sandbox merchant account I set up.

I would appreciate it if someone could explain to me the settings that need to go in open cart and the settings required on paypal etc.
