Upgrading from verion 2 to 3

Hello everyone,

I have question about upgrading to version 3. Currently I am using version 2.3.0.2 and I am wondering if I can upgrade to version 3 with without losing the changes to the core files. I've changed and added lots of custom codes to the core files, becuase I did not know of OCMOD. I dont wanna lose all my custom code I made, so is there a way to upgrade to version 3 and still keep my custom code in the core files?

You will lost all custom codes. Even all custom modules must be upgraded separately...

I'm still running v 1.4 and want to upgrade to 3.0.2.

first installed 3.0.2 on my localhost and imported 1.4 DB, but it still show the demo content though the db is pointing to right one.

Please suggest the steps to upgrade.
