Free Checkout Extension: Can't change the status away from Cancelled

I am using version 3.0.2.0.

I have the Free Checkout payment module enabled, as I want people to be able to register for a trial period for an online product.

Problem is that when someone registers I don't get notified, and it only shows on the dashboard under "Missing Orders" because the status is "Cancelled". When I try to change it under extensions, I change Order Status to something other than Cancelled. I save. When I go back to it, it is back to Cancelled.

Is there any way to fix this?

Same problem here. Order status for the free checkout extension cannot be changed to anyting other than Cancelled.
Did you find a solution or workaround?
