Orders Are not showing in Dashboard

I have been getting orders through Opencart which is awesome, however, they orders are not showing on the dashboard.
Is there a checkbox somewhere or a setting that might not be right?

Have you checked if those orders are on the "Missing Orders"?
Menu bar -> Orders -> Set filter to Missing Orders

I can now see them, how do I make them visible on the dashboard and how do I stop them ending up in here?

Well, looks like for some reason some transactions are not processed. What are you using as a payment gateway? PayPal? Authorize? Skrill?

I'm using Paypal Standard - I had noticed that by default that Completed Order was being given the value of cancelled I think, I have since gone through and changed it to completed - would this be right?
I also have Worldpay Setup but haven't taken any orders through that payment gateway yet.

Yes, that would be right, however looks like there's an issue with PayPal payments, since those orders are missing. Do further testing to find out the issue.

Having the same issue and I am glad I found this post from the search. Not even sure where to start investing the issue. Were you successful in finding the issue?

Okay, all good now. I recently changed my IPN link to one that integrated with mailchimp. When I no longer needed it, I disabled the link instead of replacing with the previous link. Enabled. Corrected. All good.

Glad I found this post, I see I have 18 "missing" orders since moving to OC this past Friday. All but one of them have no customer information. I see an extension > payments > free checkout -- and I just disabled that. Could that have been the problem? I'm using Authorize.net AIM for the cards.
