Hi I have a US bank account and using PayPal but want to use a payment gateway for credit card etc. for those that don't want to pay via PayPal. Does anybody have any suggestions which is best? I have a SSL certificate.
thanks - appreciated
Thanks for the quick reply - the reason I asked is I am from Australia and wanting some ideas from those that are already using one. Yes had a look in the extensions - not sure which is for United States specifically. I am happy to purchase the module - I have been asked by a friend who wants to use opencart to research what is favoured by most opencart users. The person usually uses Interspire but found the demo backend of opencart easier to follow etc.
If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it, I will also enquire a few that there are modules for.
Thanks

Some gateways are also merchant accounts (Paypal, Google, Paypoint, etc)
Some gateways are just gateways and rely on other reseller merchants that use their gateways. (Authorize.net)
Authorize.net is a good gateway and they have a list of reseller merchants on their site:
http://www.authorize.net/solutions/merc ... directory/
If you can find a cheap merchant account to go with it they are usually pretty affordable. I got in at 9.99/mo for the gateway and $8 monthly merchant fee with 2.19% +0.20 per purchase. YMMV
PayQuake was a good starter one for me when I first got into ecommerce. But it depends if you are going to sell a few high ticket items or multiple low ticket items, so do your math
Also talk in popular merchant forums about different accounts

Authorize.net is the main front-runner. And you don't have to buy a module for that; it's already coded into OC.
Using OC version 1.4.8b
