Help with customisation spec

Hi - I have a large art gallery site that I want to replatform onto OC 2.x. I've got a fair idea as to how the data model will migrate and where there are areas of customisation and functional enhancement.

It's a chunk of work I am looking to outsource and in the first instance I'd like to get some input and guidance from someone who really knows OC very well - ideally in the UK but flexible as long as there are no language difficulties - to help me nail down the design and the spec before I farm it out. I imagine I initially need half a day to a day or so of someone's time to review what the existing site does and the key functional needs; the gaps between that and what I can see in OC; and then to arrive at a plan for how to plug those gaps.

It's not very clear, if you want to do everything by yourself and just need to have someone give you a friendly advice from time to time. Or you want to hire someone to do the job for you. Hi - to clarify it's a bit of both really. I'm technical and if I had the time would do it all myself (most likely with a bit of friendly guidance and support from time to time). However I work full time already and don't have the time and bandwidth. I know the business/functional requirements inside out (natch) and I have a /fair/ idea how to implement them using OC as a platform (and that OC is warranted as an option for this). My first need then is to go thru the 10,000ft design that says ok this is how the galleries will work, this is what we need to store about an artist and where it will live in the OC data model etc. I need some sanity checking and input on this (say 5-10 hours) and then I can write the specs to put out on here and places like upwork (TBH I've put feelers out already). That chunk of work is going to be somewhat bigger (days/weeks) but probably not too onerous as long as I plan the implementation in stages to get up and running at a safe pace (this is migrating a site that has been running for 16 years!).

Does that sound a bit clearer?
