Product Image layer

I have contacted the extension support multiple times but they just keep saying they don't know how to fix the issue. The issue is that it lags when switching from picture to picture and shows the main image in the background making it seem like it is lagging. The attached video shows what I'm talking about.

Without seeing the actual site, i'd guess that perhaps the hover image is loading over ajax so that takes a second or two to load. Mean while the background (main image) stays so while the image is loading, it flickers a bit as the layer builds. But can't be sure without a link
