No pictures showing in admin

Hi.
Trying to create products. Pictures are in the files on the server.
I click on the select picture icon and nothing happens except for a grey tint on the screen...no picture boxes, no files...nothing. I have tried on several browsers and still nothing.
Any suggestions?
