I have a big problem with OC 2.x (2.3 at the moment). When installing ocmode extension that is not compatible, my opencart crashes and can't access the admin panel anymore. What is the solution? How can I remove the extension manually?

Now it shows me white page with this mgs:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ModelExtensionEvent::getEvent() in /home/feedsite/public_html/test01/system/storage/modification/admin/model/extension/event.php on line 20

First of all (and most important): check the compatibility!
Therefore I have to ask, if you know already that it is not compatible, why you are so stupid and install it??

To remove that now completely, you have to:

1. clear all modified files inside the folder

Code: Select all

../system/storage/modification
2. open you database tool (e.g. phpMyAdmin) and delete all entries in the table

Code: Select all

modification
3. [optional] delete all folders and files came with that modification

the extension was for 2.2, and wanted to try if it is working ok with the new version. In the old OC, you just remove the XML file in vqmod directory and everything is back to normal, now it's much more compicated.

Yes, vQmods are much easier to remove. It's one of many reasons I prefer it over ocMod.

ocMods are stored in the database. You'll need to find the one you just installed in the "modification" table, and delete its entry.

Both have their dis- and advantages.
But if you play around with incompatible extensions (does not matter if VQ- or OCMod), you have to live with your density.
Or the other way, ask here questions.
