Extension Installer Problem or is it the extension?

I'm getting an error trying to use the Extension Installer. I'm trying to install the Import/Export tool and get the error shown in the attached image. 'Method not implemented'. I thought it was related to my FTP settings, but I've tried all kinds of settings in the OpenCart/Store Settings/FTP area and still can't get this to work.

Anyone have any ideas on where this error is coming from and how to get rid of it so that I can install this extension?

It's likely the extension installer. You should be able to easily tell whether it's the extension installer by trying to install another full extension. (Note: if it's just an .ocmod.xml file, that will install without FTP properly being set up, so you need to try installing a full extension.)

You can try this free mod which changes how the extension installer uploads things, which make fix the issue:

If it doesn't, you should just upload the extension manually using an FTP application. If you don't know how to do that, I highly recommend you learn how, so you can manage your own files on your server. If you prefer not to, you can find developers for hire in the 'Commercial Support' forum, or in the Partners area in the menu at the top of the page.

I attempted to use the Installer on a few other extensions and I get the same error on each one of them.

I then did that 'quickfix' one using the Extension Installer and that mod installed.

I then re-attempted the Import/Export tool and installed and is now showing in my Admin panels.

Thank you for the suggestion. I sure wish I understood better what the difference was.
