Hi everyone!

What is the best way to to a backup in Opencart. Yes, I have seen the TOOLS - BACKUP AND RESTORE but what happens to all the images etc uploaded?

Is it better to make a complete backup of the website itself and then restore Opencart via the BACKUP. SQL file?

Thank you

There are multiple possibilities you can consider to backup your site. One easy-to-use solution would be the backup tool from your hosting panel; well-known under the cPanel / Plesk console. You can also use the file manager in your host console to compress your store on a ZIP file separated from the database.

The extensions site also provides many releases to backup your store.

A full backup is considered to be necessary, don't forget to back up your sql database file as well. Wheneven I do a update or an extension installation, I make a full backup, including opencart admin SQL, and another one from phpmyadmin. Just to be safe.
