Has the move to Opencart 2.2 been such a massive update developers cant keep up.

We have been using 1.5.6.4 for a few years now and any extention we have bought slots in and work perfectly.

We decided to move to v2 a few months ago and after some time 2.2 came out and we reluctantly decided to start again thinking that we should keep up with things.

Literally every single extension for 2.2 we have purchased has not worked.

Without exaggerating we have purchased about 10 modules and none of them has worked. All have needed additional support and additional effort from the dev to get working. On the plus side all the developers have been helpful.

We also had a membership to os-extensions. We used Out of stock reminder, recover cart and several other extensions from them for 1.6.5.4. We joined the club again to get all the modules for 2.2 and none of theirs have worked either. There support wasn't as good as the Opencart extention market place and they actually gave a refund.

Was I too quick to move to 2.2 or am I missing something as I feel like Im losing the plot?

well, I guess so. It's very similar to, buying a brandnew Version Car, most of them have to go back the the Garage, once i a while, to replace faulty airbag's, like Honda's, or reprogram Computers, like VW's, or whatever is beeing placed on the Market, even new Windows Versions, not yet tested in full. But this is just the price, one pay's, to belong to the front-runners. Personally, I really feel sorry for the DEV's, because they sure try hard, to keep up.
