image selector not working after enabling chinese simplified

Hi. I have been having this issue after installing chinese simplified package. Whenever I needed to add an image on the english interface (e.g. product setup, home page) I have been having the following javascript error:

Chinese works perfectly fine. and when I disable the chinese language pack, the image selector returns to normal.

these are an example of steps lead to the issue:
1. Select a product to edit
2. in the word processing area, select the image icon
3. click browse server
4. double click an image.
in here, the screen stays the same and the parent window editing the product has the js error above.

Please help.
