EC Slideshow space between next module

When I place EC Slideshow on my homepage in the top position - sort order 1 and I place the latest products module top position - sort order 2 there is a space approx 350px in between EC Slideshow and the latest products module. If I put the latest products first and then EC Slideshow there is the normal separation. If someone could steer me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Additionally, if I put 2 modules above EC Slideshow then the spacing between everything is normal. I can't understand why the big space.
