Hello,

I know that I will probably have to resort to some kind of extension but I wanted to ask for advice here first. And hopefully get recommendations which extension to use if needed.

I would like to create a product builder/configurator similar to this http://bit.ly/1MU2ZG7 (please press the order button at the top of the page in order to initiate product configurator.

It could be even a little bit simpler than in the provided example. I've created a quick product mock-up for better understanding what I have in mind http://i.imgur.com/nMeGKUx.jpg

• The product would have 4 configurable steps

• It would be nice if product image could change depending on the selected components, but it isn't necessary

• Price would need to auto update depending on the selected option

• A some kind of indicator which component is selected would be a plus

Nothing is impossible, when it comes to coding ! Your only Problem will be, probably, to get something like this done in a price range below 1K US$, I assume, because it would require a highly competent OC Coder, to achieve such. But those few Coder Pro's, possibly capable to do such Jobs, do not come for cheap, unfortunately

I think you are looking for a web-based product configurator that can work with interdependence between atributes (s.a. If I choose wood I will get 2 colours if I choose stone I get 4 colours). A good example of such product configurator is http://www.simplio3d.com they have an option with OpenCart also.
