I just started getting an error undefined when i log into admin & all the icons for the buttons and sections are gone. Everything else seems to be working ok. This is on 2.2 a clean install that didnt have this issue until this morning.
My whole front & backend has SSL, the green lock is in place everywhere.

Hi remustx,

Be prepared for more surprising things in v2.2.0.0... It's not production ready yet.

OpenCart 2.2.0.0 Testing - Issues to Expect...
Changes made to correct issues in OpenCart for v2.2.0.x

Some reading material...

Hi Randem,

Thanks for the reading material...I have experienced a bunch of the issues you listed, think i have them mostly lined out now ( i hope )

This issue i have figured out was https related, if not loaded with www then it would do this, got that fixed now and forcing via htaccess everything to the www

Had a coder of a mod i bought go in and fix some stuff, that was spitting out error codes, that seems to have stabilized it as i have had zero issues in the last 24 hrs.

I like 2.2 when its running right, hope i have corrected the major issues, probably should have went with 2.1 out of the box. If 2.2 keeps giving me headaches i will likely make the switch to the 2.1 tree

Thanks for that statement. It helps me a lot.

I'm a little disappointed that v2.2.0.0 is not production ready and yet is blasted across the site as the "Latest Version". I guess I'll just look in to some of these errors and see if it's worth the hassle.

Great, I come from a strict arena of development, testing, evaluation and production and we have always had a saying. Never purchase 1.0 of anything, wait for them to work the bugs out of it. the same goes for major upgrades, a lot of testing is indeed necessary before it can go into production...

But you should not, OC is a Community Project, not a Microsoft Product, it's beeing tested by Users, NOT Customers, at least paying the the very first Release. And even MS is not able, to write error-free Code, so, better don't expect such from OC, and for free !

It's only the Problem of those, not beeing aware of such, some seem to believe, to sell more, easier, or better, when always using the latest Version. or then, they feel better, who know's ?! :D

Others know, and wait, until something works, they are not disappointed, since most of them already know, that NO Software is error-free, or then, just as long, as nobody found out about yet.
Good Luck ! ;)

I have been using OC for years....After a week of banging my head on the desk fixing issues, i now have a problem free 2.2 running. From my past experiences with OC every version needs a little work, just with fresh releases the solutions to problems are not easily found, but thanks to the dedicated users & coders here solutions are always around.

I understand that nothing is perfect. I just find different than other opensource projects I've been a part of. I'm used to having stable and unstable branches or releases clearly marked so the User can pick.

@remustx that is a relief to know it can be done. I'm still having issues but I am completely new to OC. I really like the features and the ease of using it I just need to bang my head against the desk for the next week I guess. It will probably be longer since I'm going to be doing this in my spare time.

Thanks everyone.
