Cancelled Order - Update Order Status, No Options Work

I have a single customer (a friend who i know so i know there not a fraudulent customer)
this particular customer no matter what they order, i always seem to have an issue with him. his order shows cancelled every time,
i can set the order to pending, but as soon as i select complete it shows as cancelled. even if i hit the override tick box the order still shows cancelled,
i have turned off the antifraud modules and it still dose the same.
can anyone help as this is becoming a pain in the back side
