Getting this error on 2.2 upgrade.. My main page states no theme installed and cannot access administration panel, when logging in it only loops back to the sign in page.

v2.2.0.0 isn't quite ready yet - http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=181&t=158954

The best you can do is to upgrade to v2.1.0.1 and wait for a working upgrade script - http://www.randemsystems.com/support/op ... n-2-1-0-1/

Do not use the upgrade scripts that come with OpenCart, you already found the problem...

I just finished an upgrade script to test fo v2.2.0.0. Try it if you like...
