FedEx WSDL (Q) Charging Sales Tax outside of Tax Area

Using OC v 2.1.0.1 and FedEx WSDL (Q)
I've setup Geo Zones (as best as I could) with FL only, and then 49 states other than FL.
I thought I set it up so that only FL would be charged sales tax, but ... everyone is being charged.
ANY input would be appreciated. If any screenshots would help, I'd certainly be happy to post them.

Are you sure this is only occurring for Qphoria's Fedex extension? When you apply the exact same tax class to another shipping method, or a product, does it get taxed too? If so, it's not related to his extension.

In that case, you probably didn't get your tax class set up right. Go through each setting in Taxes > Tax Classes and Taxes > Tax Rates, and make sure everything is set up correctly.

If the issue *does* only occur in the Fedex extension, then it's probably a bug. You should contact Qphoria about that directly.

I don't think it has anything to do with WSDLQ ... what I really meant to say is simply that I'm using that extension. I added flat rate shipping just to test and yes the FL sales tax still appears for shipping addresses outside of FL. I've checked my Taxes > Tax Classes and Taxes > Tax Rates ... I'm not sure what to look for. I have something set up incorrectly, but I don't know how to troubleshoot it.

I have 2 geo zones, FL and USA Outside FL (with the other 49 states selected)
I have 1 Tax Class, FL Tax Class, based on Shipping Address

ok, i've just added a new Tax Rate, "no sales tax" and applied it to the Geo Zone "outside of FL"
next i've added that to Tax Classes (under FL Tax Class << maybe I need to change that name for clarity's sake)...

hrm i think i'm onto something - ok that was it. I needed to add the 2cd Tax Rate of 0.000% for outside of FL, and add that to the Tax Class that I am using.

Thanks Johnathan!

You shouldn't need to add a 0% rate, though if that fixed the issue then you can stick with that. Most likely you either set the tax class wrong, or there's something else installed in your system that's making it not work right.

However, if the solution works, you probably don't need to worry about it.
