Very bizarre issue when editing orders

Opencart version 2.1.0.1.
Tested on our live site, and also two fresh installs on a local WAMP setup.

This issue occurs when an admin user attempts to edit a customers order. Specifically on step 2. Products. As soon as that page is reached, all this items on that order are immediately put back in the customers shopping cart. It doesn't matter if the customers cart is empty or has products in it. Either way all cart contents will be replaced with the products on the old order. I do not actually modify the order in any way for this to happen.

There are more issue with editing orders, but this one breaks Opencart. I do not understand how any online store can function this way.

Looks like neither Daniel or for that matter anybody else, have an answer for you. But Daniel mentioned once that you are not supposed to edit orders to make changes, but to void and make a new one... I'm not say what's right or wrong here.
Currently (2.1.0.2) you are not allowed to edit an order if you have 0 stock left of the product listed in the order either.
But if you need to update an order is done by adding an order history under view order. If you need to change different details, then at the moment you'll need to void the order and create a new one with the right details.
There are few things wrong with the edit order at the moment and some have been fixed in the master, but I guess what I'm trying to say here is that, eventually Daniel will get there, you just need to be a bit more patient. It is free software after all...

Hi moonsworker,

I have noticed and tested that most cart problems come from buggy third party themes and are not in the original OpenCart theme. to check use the default theme to see if the issue goes away. My guess its that it will.

Same issue also for me :(
In this way modifying an order became a dangerous operation! :'(

Any work around?

Right. Lets try again... The guy that designed Opencart (Daniel Kerr) suggested that if you need to change something on an order (modify), you void the order and then create a new one with whatever changes you need. Got it?
I'm not say that this is right and you are wrong... What I'm saying is that the designer has/had a different idea of how to go about it. He may change his mind later on... Who knows.. Ask him...
