Product list sorting number sequencing

Hello

A lot of my products are numbers and I've noticed that they're displayed out of sequence within the admin product list and front end category pages/modules. For instance, a product called '1000 Bagels' will come before '345 Bagels', even though obviously 345 is less than 1000 and so should appear first.

Can someone please kindly tell me how I may have my products display in numbered sequence correctly?
