Hello everyone.
I would like to update our shipping method on Ajax Quick Checkout.
We currently ship out goods to customers in the UK using Royal Mail 1st class and to international customers outside the UK by DPD courier.
Now, we do not want to charge for postage to our customers in the UK, and as for international deliveries we want to charge £11.60. However, on orders over £60 for international, the postage will be free.
Therefore, I have changed the shipping setting in extentions > shipping.
For Royal Mail, I enabled the status of 'General' and set 'Geo Zone' as 'UK shipping', and then enabled 'RM 1st class standard' and put '1000000:0' in the Rates field.
For DPD courier service, I changed Citylink's status to enabled (as I heard Citylink and DPD are from the same company and there is no option for DPD on the list). Also, I set 'Geo Zone' as 'Other than UK' and put '10:11.6,15:14.1,20:16.60,25:19' in the Rates field.
But all these changes are not applied on our Ajax checkout page. Also I saw on the instructions of Ajax Quick Checkout that 'If you want to the feature of setting specific payment methods to specific shipping methods – you will need to use a separate module for this.'
What does it mean? What should I do to fix this issue?
Thank you.
Check whether the same issue occurs on the standard checkout. If it does, it's not related to your ajax quick checkout. In that case, it's probably that you have your geo zones set up incorrectly. You should double-check them in System > Localisation > Geo Zones.
If it only occurs in the quick checkout, then it's a bug in there. You should contact the developer of that extension for support.

Thank you. I tried on the standard checkout and found that the same issue occurs.Johnathan wrote:Check whether the same issue occurs on the standard checkout. It might sound very silly but can I ask how to set up geo zones correctly?
On our geo zone list we have three different zones. One is 'Other than UK' which includes all countries in the world except for UK.
The second is 'UK shipping' which includes the United Kingdom only.
The last is 'UK VAT zone' which includes United Kingdom.
All zones' statuses of countries are set as 'All zones'.
Thank you.
Your geo zones sound like they're set up fine. If that's the case, then the issue lies somewhere else -- possibly within the shipping extensions you set up, or possibly within another mod you've installed. Those can be complex things to look at, so you should probably consider either (1) purchase a shipping extension that can do the weight-based rates you need, like Weight & Volume-Based Shipping, or (2) hire someone to look at your issues and fix them for you.
