Installing extension without on localhost without FTP?

Is that possible? I find it really, really annoying that FTP connection is obligatory, i don't want to setup a FTP server just to test extensions, i never did that, i tried but didn't succeed

Sure, it can be done, you already did it thousands of times, if you have your Server, locally, on your PC, just copy/move the subs/files from their 'unzipped' location into their 'expected' LOCALHOST/....../ location, within the '../system/modification/...' Section, usually, and then, you just have to 'activate' them, usually, within the Server Admin Section, to make 'em work.
There is no secret on this at all!
