Hi, I need a specific type of Attribute module and after scouring hundreds of mods I cant find it.

I have around 6000 products, around 2000 have specific attributes, lets say the following

texture - sharp / blunt
colour - black / blue / white
length - short / medium / long
metal - titanium / aluminium

I need to have a clickable or dropdown module that can be selected when required ( NOT there all the time on home page )

So a customer decides to click it and then selects> sharp, blue, medium, titanium and based on the attributes I have assigned to the 2000 specific products it narrows down their search

Hope this makes sense....all the ones I found, have to sit there all the time on home page which is no good as for 4000 products they are irrelevant

Really Really hoping someone can help on this

thanks

I have a Filter by Attribute Module, and could give you some code to hide everything except the module header. When someone wants to use it, they could click the header, and it would expand the module for attribute selection.

Note: you never have to have a module appear on the homepage. You just need to select the appropriate layout that is applies to. So if you make that the Category layout (for example) it will only appear on the category pages.

Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any further questions.

OH...

are you saying you can assign it to a specific category only ?

does that mean you get set up 2 completly different ones and assign to 2 different categories ?

what if the top categories are drop downs rather than clicks, does that matter?

thanks for the help

1. All modules can be set to appear on whatever page you want. What you do is create a layout for that category page, then apply that layout to the category in the category's Design tab. Any modules associated with that layout will then appear on that category page.

2. You can set up as many modules as you want, so you can set up different ones for different categories. You can also choose which attributes appear for each module, so you could make them include different attributes depending on the category.

3. Functionally, it should work fine with any custom theme. If your theme doesn't conform to OpenCart standard classes and id's, you may need to adjust the styling of the module box. I don't provide free styling customization, but can assist with a few suggestions if things look off once it's installed.

You can contact me at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have more questions.
