Need workaround for max_input_vars for v2.1 (Live Options?)

Hi!
My hosting limits my php "max_input_vars" value, and there's nothing I can do about it.
With OpenCart 1.5.x.x I used this extension (Live Options):

But on my OpenCart 2.1.0.1 installation, I don't know what to do... I can't upgrade my hosting right now, so I'm looking for an extension to work around the max_input_vars limitation, maybe the same way the Live Options does.

P.S. I did email JAY6390 (Live Options' developer) but he's not planning on having a 2.X version this year.

First of all .. why not moving to another hosting provider then?
Hosting is very, very cheap nowadays

Didn't they provide you a way to override some settings in their php.ini file? Possibility to create your own php(5).ini file? What php version are they using? etc.

Too many questions

Hosting is out of my control. I talked with the owner and it's not something they're willing to change right now, I have to work with what I have (godaddy and hostgator shared plans).

On 1.5.x the "Live Options" extension provided a great workaround, I guess there is SOMETHING I can do with 2.1.x, I'm just not sure what...
